1605 - Norway and Denmark wonder about the Norse settlements

In 1514-1516 the Norwegian Archbishop Erik Valkendorf wanted to send an expedition to Greenland to try and reclaim that province to Denmark/Norway.

However, it wasn’t until 1605 that King Christian IV of Denmark finally commissioned an expedition to locate the lost Eastern Norse settlement and reassert sovereignty, fully expecting that they would still be alive. The expeditions were largely unsuccessful, with the Norse settlements remaining undiscovered.
