1536-1537 - New union of Denmark and Norway
The Kalmar union was dissolved when Sweden departed in 1523. In its place a personal union was formed by Denmark and Norway (a union of kingdoms including Schleswig-Holstein). In 1660 it developed into the integrated state of Denmark-Norway. It claimed sovereignty of Greenland, believing that the original Norseman had survived.
Fun fact: the Greenlandic polar bear was introduced onto the Danish coat of arms in 1666, and remained there until 1958
